I am trying to apply this one in my quest to "win" my daughter back over. She keeps pushing me away when her Daddy is home. She is SO affectionate when it's her and I. But when Daddy is home, I may as well be the boogie man. But, I will stick with it. If she pushes me away, I will just gently try again later..... Maybe I should stop pinching her.... ya think?

Snuggle Bug has learned the phrase, "go way" which means go away. He mainly uses it to chase the cats out of his room, but sometimes he'll use it with us when he doesn't want our company. I must admit, it's hard not to feel rejected by these little comments, but I realize it's him attempting to assert his independence. And the few times when he wants Daddy over me, I respond quite responsibly by sticking out my tongue, telling him "fine" and flouncing out of the room! :) This makes him laugh.
Try not to feel too bad when Daddy gets preferential treatment from your daughter. I'm sure it makes him feel good to be preferred once in a while.
